Described as “one of the most fully-rounded pianists of today”, Israeli pianist Boris Giltburg enjoys a career that has taken him to all the great musical centres of the world. In this recital programme he contrasts the deep poetry and romanticism of Chopin’s Ballades with Prokofiev’s colourful suite from his ballet Romeo and Juliet and the brilliantly impressionistic Gaspard de la Nuit by Ravel.

The young Georgian pianist Mariam Batsashvili has made a speciality of the music of Liszt since winning the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 2014. She performs a programme of Liszt & Beethoven in her first appearance for the Leeds International Piano Series.
