Claude Debussy Préludes: Books 1 & 2
Pascal Rogé exemplifies the finest in French pianism. His playing of Francis Poulenc, Erik Satie, Gabriel Fauré, Camille Saint-Saëns and especially Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy is characterised by elegance, beauty and stylistically perfect phrasing. Debussy’s Préludes hail from the Impressionist era, with its ethereal, transcendent, and otherworldly representations of the outside world. The 24 pieces of music that make up the two books of preludes describe vivid vignettes of the physical and mystical worlds.
This concert is part of the Leeds International Piano Series, presented in partnership with the Leeds International Piano Competition.
