Clare Hammond is a ‘pianist of extraordinary gifts’ (Gramophone), recognised for her imaginative playing, visionary programming and communicative performance style. Clare introduces the music of Hélène Montgeroult to the International Piano Series for the first time. Montgeroult (1764–1836) wrote in an early Romantic style that was decades ahead of her time. She has been described as ‘the missing link between Mozart and Chopin’ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung).
