Junyan Chen is a rising star in the classical world, winning Second Prize at the 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition, along with the Chamber Music Prize and Alexandra Dariescu Award for her performance of a woman composer’s work. In the final, she performed Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Domingo Hindoyan.
Recent highlights include solo recitals at Wigmore Hall, Harrogate, Liverpool, and a spring 2025 tour with Manchester Collective featuring a world premiere by Héloïse Werner. A passionate advocate for contemporary music, Junyan has worked with composers Hans Abrahamsen, Mark-Anthony Turnage, and Dominic Muldowney.
