Nicolas Margarit, born in Brisbane (Australia) in 1999, embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of three under the guidance of Joyce Bennet. His passion for piano led him to the Yehudi Menuhin School in London, where he refined his skills with Ruth Nye in 2011 and 2012. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Nicolas joined the Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid in 2017 under the mentorship of Professor Dmitri Bashkirov, later continuing his studies with Milana Chernyavska. Recognized for his exceptional talent, he received the Diploma awarded to the most outstanding student of his chair in both 2019 and 2020. Nicolas’s accolades include winning the first prize at the 49th Young Piano Performers Competition of Catalonia in 2019. From his debut recital at the Queensland Conservatorium at age four to performances across Australia and abroad, including prestigious festivals like the Cataluña’s Hammerklavier Festival and the Marvão International Music Festival, Nicolas has captivated audiences with his remarkable artistry. As a soloist, he has graced the stage with renowned orchestras such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Brisbane Pops Orchestra. Complementing his formal education, Nicolas receives guidance from esteemed musicians including Nikolai Demidenko, Elisabeth Leonskaja, and Pierre-Laurent Aimard, among others.
