Help shape a joyful, world-class celebration of music.
The Leeds International Piano Competition is seeking a new Chair of Trustees and welcoming applications from new Trustees to join our Board — a rare opportunity to help guide one of the world’s most prestigious music competitions at a moment of exciting change.
As we look ahead to the next Competition in 2027, expand our international reach, and deepen our role as a force for public good, this is a meaningful time to join The Leeds and help shape what comes next.
Together, our Board supports work that includes:
🎹 Championing brilliant young pianists on the world stage
🌍 Bringing music into schools, streets and communities
🎭 Growing a public movement that celebrates the power of music
Chair of Trustees
As Chair, you will provide strategic leadership to the Board, working closely with the executive team to ensure strong governance, clarity of purpose and ambitious delivery. This is a high-profile, influential role for an inclusive and experienced leader with a passion for the arts and a belief in music’s civic and cultural power.
Trustees
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the organisation’s future — offering insight, challenge and support, and helping ensure The Leeds continues to thrive artistically, financially and socially. We welcome people from a wide range of backgrounds and are particularly keen to hear from those who bring fresh perspectives, skills and lived experience to our Board.
Whether as Chair or Trustee, this is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a much-loved global institution and to be part of a joyful, ambitious chapter in its story.
