Skylar’s Missing Note
Skylar’s Missing Note is a magical performance created in collaboration with Manic Chord Theatre, telling the story of a girl’s adventure to find her beloved piano’s missing note. This innovative performance has been specially designed for Key Stage 1 (5 – 7 year olds), and blends immersive storytelling with live piano performance to introduce pupils to the piano in a fun and engaging way. The project aims to fuel students’ imagination and curiosity and is underpinned with a set of curriculum resources devised with music education experts and teachers.
The ‘Skykar’s Missing Note’ production includes a 45-minute performance from Skylar (Jen) followed by interactive workshops with smaller groups of pupils. These workshops cover musical elements such as dynamics, tempo, pitch, & rhythm, as the main culprit, Mr. Pigeon takes us within him on his journey through the city exploring all of the sounds and sights!
“Whilst giving students an unforgettable, memorable and – for some – brand new artistic experience, the project aims to use inventive music-driven storytelling to inspire younger generations to see learning as a creative and empowering adventure – as well as being incredibly fun.”
