Pavel Kolesnikov has become a huge favourite among UK audiences since he took up residence in London. Following his Wigmore Hall debut in 2014, The Telegraph gave his recital a rare five-star review and called it “one of the most memorable of such occasions London has witnessed for a while”. His numerous appearances at venues and festivals across the world, including the Proms, have brought him great acclaim. He brings a rich programme of heavyweight masterpieces, including the sublime Schubert Impromptus.

Following the success of this new initiative in 2021/22, we once again bring some of the world’s greatest pianists to The Venue, Leeds Conservatoire across the autumn and winter months. They are a truly international group, from Argentina, France, Russia, Kazakhstan, Israel and Georgia, and the repertoire is a very rich mix of great masterpieces, with threads of Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, and Liszt running through the season. Three of the musicians featured are at the forefront of a very exciting younger generation of pianists, including the 2021 competition winner Alim Beisembayev.
