The Great Hall,

The Great Hall is is one of the finest buildings on the main campus of the University of Leeds and the focus for the university’s ceremonial activities. Holding approximately 600 people, it is used for concerts, conferences, receptions and presentations.

Location
The Great Hall is within the main campus of the University of Leeds, a two minute walk along a tree lined approach from the main entrance on Woodhouse Lane. (Click HERE for a map showing its location.)

Parking
There is parking available in the university car park entering from Woodhouse Lane. Spaces are limited on weekdays up to 5.00pm but there is plenty of parking after 5.00pm and at weekends. Car parking is also recommended in the safe multi-storey car park on Woodhouse Lane, a ten minute walk from the Great Hall.

There are a number of unreserved parking bays for disabled badge holders situated alongside the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Building. From these bays, there is a level access route with a slight incline to the Great Hall, about 100 yards away.

Accessible Routes
The accessible entrance is adjacent to the Great Hall on the far right of the main entrance. To access this proceed under the University arch and through the courtyard with railings lining the path. Enter the building through the side door on the right at ground floor level. Here there is a level access corridor link which will take you to the performance hall on the top floor via a lift. On leaving the lift, turn left and proceed forward to the Hall. Stewards and Porters are available to assist, if required.

The magnificent Leeds Town Hall can seat 1600 people and was built in 1858 as a statement of civic pride; a reminder of the importance of Leeds as a centre of trade and commerce and an indication of Victorian wealth. Queen Victoria herself performed the opening ceremony.

Leeds Town Hall is conveniently located in the centre of Leeds on the Headrow and next to the Central Library, the City Art Gallery and the Henry Moore Institute. It is five minute walk from Leeds City Railway Station and a short drive from the M1, M621 and M62.(Click HERE for a map showing its location.)

Parking
The nearest car park to the Town Hall is the 24 hour secure car park in The Light, accessible via Great George Street.

There are a few unreserved spaces on the apron fronting the Town Hall for disabled badge holders only.

Accessible Routes 
The Town Hall has full wheelchair access. Inside, there is a lift to all floors.
