2009 Programme

Leeds International Pianoforte Competition 2009

The Sixteenth Leeds International Pianoforte Competition will be held in Leeds, England, from Wednesday 26 August to Sunday 13 September 2009. The Competition will consist of four stages and a Gala Recital.

  • First stage, in the Great Hall, University of Leeds
  • Second stage, in the Great Hall, University of Leeds
  • Third stage (Semi-final), in the Great Hall, University of Leeds
  • Fourth stage (Final), in Leeds Town Hall – Concerto performance with the Hallé orchestra conducted by Sir Mark Elder and broadcast by the BBC
  • A Gala Recital, in the Great Hall, University of Leeds, featuring the six finalists with pieces chosen from their competition repertoire

The Great Hall holds approximately 600 people and Leeds Town Hall, 1600 people.

All stages of the Competition are open to the public.
